Located at an altitude of 1200 m, Châtel has managed to preserve its traditional side while adding a touch of modernity that gives it a unique village resort character.

With more than 130 km of slopes divided into 2 sectors Super-Châtelet Linga Pré la Loux, it is more than 45 slopes that await you on its domain. You can also access part of the domain of its Swiss neighbors, the resorts of Morgins and Torgon.  
And if you don't have enough, you can explore the huge Portes du Soleil ski area with its 650 km of slopes between Avoriaz and Champéry.

Great ski area

Great ski area

The Super-Châtel sector is ideal for beginners and children, while the Linga - Pré La Joux sector will appeal to good skiers with more difficult runs. 

A snowpark and a boardercross are also available for freestylers. A playful slope also allows you to measure your speed with a stopwatch and manage your braking distance.

There is also a DVA Park, to introduce you to off-piste safety. 
Note that a free shuttle service serves the center of the village to the different sectors of the domain.

Nordic Skiing

As for Nordic skiing, the Val d'Abondance offers more than 40 km of skiing on 7 cross-country ski trails with a biathlon initiation park. The area also offers beautiful itineraries for snowshoeing.
